Venturers Practice Ferry Crash Rescue
The venturers rescue team was put through its paces in Hythe to rehearse aiding severely ill ferry passengers.
The simulation on Sunday imagined the ferry colliding with the terminal, its captain incapacitated and to passengers injured, one having suffered a heart attack.
Once the venturers team ensured the ferry was safe and anchored off Hythe Pier, the group's ambulance technician was then swiftly alongside, first aid was given and the casualties transferred to hospital.
Philip Pearce-Smith, honorary executive officer of the Lepe based search and rescue group, hailed the efforts by his team and the ferry crew as "First class".
