Venturer Rescue Four was tasked by the coastguard to the assistance of a vessel aground in the Beaulieu River.
The small motor boat with lone occupant had gone aground just outside the small exbury river.
On arrival the coxswain determined it was not possible to recover the boat however the decision was made to recover the gentleman and take him back to the quay, this was completed and he was handed over to the Coastguard mobile team.
His boat will be recovered by the Harbour Master on the next suitable high water.
Venturer Rescue Four completed several routine patrols and training missions as five new cadets were individually shown the controls and begun their basic boat crew and handling training.
Venturer Rescue Four was launched on service twice to broken down vessels, the first being a small dinghy with two children on board, the boat was towed back to Lepe and the children were handed over to relieved parents.
The second was to the assistance of a broken down RIB, the vessel was again towed to Lepe were they managed to rectify their engine faults.
Leaving little time for training the rest of day was spent practising some basic boat handling, practice really does make perfect!
