Week Ending 27th September 2009

Venturer Rescue One was tasked by Solent Coastguard on Sunday 20.09.2009 to the assistance of the 25 foot yacht Doxy who had run aground on the rocky shores approximatly 1 Cable east of Fort Albert.

Venturer Rescue One arrived on scene with a rapidly ebbing spring tide.

Due to the position of the yacht on a rocky ledge and the possibility of ingressing water the Venturers Crew decided to evacuate the four people from the yacht and took them into Yarmouth.

Venturer Rescue One then returned to the vessel and towed it clear where the Yarmouth RNLI Lifeboat was able to easily place pumps onboard and clear the water.

Yarmouth RNLI Lifeboat then towed the vessel into Yarmouth to be met by Needles Coastguard Teams.
