Venturers take to the water....but not in a boat!

The league of Venturers crews made it no further than just down the road from thier control room on Sunday before coming to the aid of a stranded motorist when driving rain and tremendous winds battered the Lepe coast.

areWaves were breaking over the sea defences as a forcasted Force 9 struck the coast.

The combination of waves and rain were too much for the roads drainage system to cope and a car with two persons in quickly became stuck in the middle of the road.

However Venturers in drysuits waded in to attach a tow rope and tow the vehicle to the nearest dry (well almost) part of the carpark to be met by the AA.

This was the only incident of the weekend, saturday was a calm day and the crew spend alot of time cleaning the spinal boards and other equipment.
