Working with Hampshire Police Control, the Veturers responded to a number of requests to assist motorists stranded by floods, and reports of roads blocked by fallen tree's. 

The help included an elderly couple trapped in deep water, a Lady where  the rising tide covering the shore road , caused concern as the water level rose  and started to fill her car.

Perhaps just of important was that the Police had sufficient confidence in the teenage Venturers to use them in real life rescue situations which developed a working relationship between police and Youth.
