The Venturers volunteer charity started over 50 years ago and has carried out thousands of rescues mostly in and around the busy waters of the Solent area.
Our youngsters are trained from 12 years old upwards developing their personal skills and qualifications in a friendly environment with a view to enhancing their future employment prospects.

Powerboat seamanship, life saving and swimming are the main areas of focus during the April-October season with various other activities to be enjoyed during the off season months.
The new CEO and management team are ensuring that the Venturers continue to help seafarers but become even better trained and more of an asset to local agencies and communities generally.
The Venturers are visiting schools to teach children how to do basic CPR in conjunction with the Royal Life Saving Society and to also increase awareness of our Cadets activities.

Anyone may apply to join or help the Venturers and we are also very open to new offers of sponsorship, as we have been mostly reliant on income from Charitable Trusts and Foundations to date.
